Complit
was set up in 1989 by a group of five young entrepreneurs all
with a technical or clerical background in the hat industry,
which is the driving force of the whole local economy in
Montappone and Massa Fermana.
The business idea at the origin of this initiative was to
produce hats for ladies, with high-quality workmanship and
finishing, destined exclusively for the clothing boutique
market. The research, the study of the styles, the orientation
to the fashion factor and the continual improvement in
finishing and manufacture have been and still are the guiding
elements.
Despite the initial difficulties, this fascinating and at the
same time innovative project acquired a concrete form along
the way, and enabled considerable development.
The company was able to break into market niches that until
then had been considered the exclusive prerogative of
competitor companies based in other places.
Today, with its simple but very efficient organization and
limited scale of production, Complit can claim stable control
of a respectable share of the European market for ladies hats..
